TRENTON, MI – A potential kidnapping crisis was averted in Trenton, Michigan, thanks to the swift action of local police and the FBI. George Mandrax, 36, was arrested in connection with a plan to abduct his ex-girlfriend on Christmas Day.

The incident began to unfold when Mandrax, who initially met the victim at Notre Dame in 2019 under the guise of being a student, was found to be in his mid-thirties, leading to their breakup. Following the separation, Mandrax allegedly embarked on a stalking campaign, driving from his home in New Jersey to Michigan to track the victim.

The situation escalated with Mandrax sending numerous text messages and a failed marriage proposal. A friend of Mandrax tipped off the victim about his potentially dangerous intentions. This led to the discovery of a tracking device under the bumper of the victim’s car, after a family friend, who is a private detective, advised a thorough check.

Trenton Police, in collaboration with the FBI, apprehended Mandrax after the victim’s family, acting on the advice of authorities, drove her car to her church on Third Street. Mandrax arrived soon after, only to be arrested by the waiting officers.
