Attempted Robbery and Assault on East Tremont Avenue

BRONX, NY — A robbery attempt in the Bronx led to an assault on a 51-year-old man on Wednesday evening. Police report that at about 7:30 PM, an unidentified man entered a building near East Tremont Avenue and Unionport Road and assaulted the victim. The assailant punched the victim multiple times in the face and body in an attempt to steal his belongings.

Despite the attack, no property was taken as the assailant fled on foot heading north on Unionport Road. The victim sustained bruises and scratches but declined medical attention at the scene.
