Attempted Robbery Reported in Flushing

Flushing, NY – On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a 53-year-old male victim was targeted in an attempted robbery near Northern Boulevard and 150th Street. The victim had arranged to exchange $20,000 for Chinese currency with an unknown individual.

Upon meeting, the suspect approached the victim with a large black bag, from which he removed and displayed a firearm. The victim fled to a secure location, and the suspect fled on foot to an unknown destination. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The NYPD is seeking any information regarding the suspect and encourages anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
