Authorities investigate overnight shooting in Red Bank

RED BANK, N.J. — Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning that left a 34-year-old man injured, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

At approximately 1:48 a.m., Red Bank police officers responded to St. Mary’s Place, just off Shrewsbury Avenue, after reports of gunfire. Officers located three shell casings at the scene. Shortly afterward, officials were informed that a man from Long Branch had been admitted to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

The victim’s condition has not been disclosed.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Red Bank Police Department.
