BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore Police Department is investigating after a baby was found dead headed home in the 2700 block of Ellicott driveway. Officers responded after a 911 call reported an unresponsive baby at the residence. Upon their arrival, officers located one-year-old Nyemia Gillard unresponsive and suffering from apparent traumatic injuries.

Police and emergency medical technicians tempted to render Aid and resuscitate the young child, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

That was on October 4th, now after the medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy, police and doctors ruled the baby’s death to be a homicide caused by multiple signs of trauma.

Baltimore Police Department homicide detectives are investigating, but have yet to file any charges. No suspects have been announced at this time.
