Bald Eagle injured in rumble with two others in Howell

HOWELL TWP, NJ – The Howell Township Police Department responded to what appears at this time to be a domestic disturbance call in the area of Canterbury Court.

Upon their arrival, police encountered two bald eagles attacking another bald eagle. The victim suffered a severe leg injury and trauma to its wings. Police searched the area for the victim, but the two attackers fled the scene prior to their arrival.

Police at this time have not made any arrests but said the suspects were black, with a white hood and yellow beak, and were last seen flying in a southbound direction.

The incident is being investigated and at this time, police have not determined in motive in the brutal attack.
