PARKVILLE, MD — A Parkville resident experienced an unexpected shift in her usual routine that led to a $50,000 windfall in the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 drawing on Thursday. The school system employee and self-proclaimed lottery enthusiast usually sticks to a specific routine, which includes visiting four different stores on different days to purchase her tickets.

On this particular day, she decided to visit Speedy Convenience, located at 7101 Darlington Drive in Baltimore, deviating from her usual routine. The decision paid off when she opted to buy a $2 quick-pick Bonus Match 5 ticket with the last two dollar bills in her purse. The ticket turned out to be a top-prize winner from the drawing held on the same day.

The winner, a frequent player who prefers scratch-offs and Bonus Match 5 games, expressed her shock and joy over the win. She plans to use her prize to pay off some bills and then indulge in something enjoyable, which she has yet to decide.

Speedy Convenience, the retailer that sold the winning ticket, will also benefit from the lucky event. The store is set to receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for their role in selling the winning ticket.
