BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – The Baltimore County Police Department is intensifying efforts to solve the 1997 homicide of Yang Yoon, a 46-year-old victim of a robbery and shooting.

The incident occurred on January 21, 1997, around 9 p.m. at Selma’s Liquor Store, located at 4602 Washington Boulevard. Officers, responding to the scene, found Yoon with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to an area hospital, Yoon was pronounced deceased.

Yoon’s involvement in the event was detailed by witnesses. They reported that Yoon, who was in the store’s basement, confronted the suspects upstairs during their robbery attempt. A struggle and subsequent shooting resulted in Yoon’s injuries. The suspects, last seen fleeing in a small, green, newer model car, remain at large.

A breakthrough in the case may come from a composite sketch derived from a witness’s description of one of the suspects. This sketch is now a crucial element in the ongoing investigation.

The Baltimore County Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to a resolution in this cold case. Information can be provided anonymously to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587 (7LOCKUP).
