Baltimore Lottery Results: Man cashes in $100,000 lottery ticket

Lottery scratch off tickets for sale

Baltimore, MD – A retired UPS worker and longtime coin collector struck it rich this week with a $100,000 payday from a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket.

The winner, who collects rare coins as a retirement hobby, scored big on the $100,000 Crossword scratch-off after purchasing the $10 ticket at Whitey’s Liquors, located at 803 North Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum. He said his ticket choice was simple, as he only plays crossword-themed scratch-offs.

After buying the ticket Thursday, he scratched it the next day and discovered he had hit one of the game’s top prizes. The Maryland Lottery confirmed the win on Oct. 1.

The prize leaves seven $100,000 top wins still available in the game, which launched in August. Whitey’s Liquors will also receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

For one Baltimore hobbyist, collecting coins just turned into collecting cash.
