Baltimore man arrested for attempted murder in Southern District shooting

BALTIMORE — Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 21 in the Southern District, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Dontae Johnson, of Baltimore, is accused of shooting a 33-year-old male victim in the 2700 block of Spellman Road. Johnson also reportedly discharged a firearm at police officers during the incident.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He faces charges of attempted first and second-degree murder, multiple counts of assault, and handgun violations.

The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. His current condition has not been disclosed.
