Baltimore man shot and killed in broad daylight on D.C. street

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A deadly shooting in Southeast on Tuesday morning has left a Baltimore man dead, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on March 18, Seventh District officers responded to the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SE for a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found an adult male unconscious and suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Derrick Howard of Baltimore, MD.

The case remains under investigation, and police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
