Baltimore man’s $5 gamble pays off with $50K jackpot

BALTIMORE, MD – A Baltimore lottery player is planning a casino vacation after winning a $50,000 top prize on a $5 Game of Thrones™ scratch-off ticket, his biggest win to date.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Harry’s Liquors, located at 3113 Greenmount Avenue. The winner scratched it on-site, quickly leaving the store afterward to double-check the result at home since he wasn’t wearing his glasses at the time.

The man, a longtime lottery enthusiast, said he enjoys playing different games. In the past, he scored a sizable payout by wagering on the same Pick 4 number across multiple tickets.

In addition to using part of his prize for a vacation, he plans to pay down bills with the winnings.

Harry’s Liquors will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
