Baltimore, MD — Investigators arrested a man Sunday in connection with a shooting last month in Baltimore’s Eastern District that left one person injured.
Detectives took 35-year-old Durel Jones into custody Sunday in the 2600 block of Harford Road, police announced. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Jones’ arrest stems from a June 15 incident, when police responded at approximately 12:10 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert in the 2400 block of Sherwood Avenue. Officers found evidence of a crime scene but no victim at that location.
Shortly afterward, officers received a call regarding a shooting victim nearby, in the 2300 block of Harford Road. They found a 42-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Emergency medical personnel transported the injured man to an area hospital for treatment. Police have not provided further information on his condition.
Police have not disclosed further details about possible motives or any connection between Jones and the victim.
