A juvenile suspect already on home monitoring was taken into custody days after a gunpoint robbery in Southwest Baltimore.
BALTIMORE, MD – A 14-year-old was confronted in broad daylight on a West Baltimore street when a suspect on a scooter allegedly pulled a gun and demanded a watch, according to the Baltimore Police Department. The robbery, reported at about 3 p.m. on April 2 in the 100 block of North Calhoun Street, triggered a multi-day investigation that led detectives to a 15-year-old now facing armed robbery charges.
Police said the suspect fled immediately after taking the watch, but a detailed clothing description provided by the victim helped guide the investigation. “A thorough clothing description of the suspect was provided to officers,” the Baltimore Police Department stated.
Investigation tracks monitored juvenile to scene
Detectives moved quickly to cross-reference the location and timing of the robbery with individuals under court-ordered supervision. “On April 3, 2026, District Detectives requested a query of juvenile offenders currently on home monitoring who were in the area of 100 North Calhoun Street at the time of the robbery,” the department said.
That query led to a breakthrough. “On April 6, 2026, detectives identified a 15-year-old male who had been in the exact location and was traveling at a speed of approximately 15 miles per hour, consistent with someone on a scooter,” police said.
Arrest made after suspect flees stolen vehicle
Later that evening, the case escalated when officers encountered the suspect under different circumstances. “Later that same day, at approximately 8 p.m., Southeast District patrol officers, assisted by Foxtrot (Aviation), arrested the 15-year-old suspect in the 1600 block of Charlotte Avenue after he bailed out of a stolen vehicle,” the department reported.
Police apprehended both the driver and a passenger, each 15 years old. During processing at the Juvenile Justice Center, investigators confirmed the passenger was the same suspect tied to the earlier robbery. “The suspect was wearing the same clothing he had on during the robbery and was also in possession of the robbery victim’s watch,” according to the department.
Authorities said the accused teen was already on home monitoring at the time of the incident. “This 15-year-old suspect was already on home monitoring for his involvement in the shooting of a 13-year-old male in January 2025 and had previously been arrested for squeegee-related assaults and drug possession,” police stated.
The suspect has been formally charged with armed robbery.
