Baltimore Police Capture Woman in Fatal Shooting

Baltimore, MD Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred in the Western District on September 22.

Investigators identified 38-year-old Teresa Collins of Baltimore as the suspect who shot and killed 33-year-old Jasmine Simuel in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

On September 26, Collins was apprehended and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she faces a charge of first-degree murder. She is currently being held without bail.

The incident was initially reported around 9:06 p.m. on September 22 when Western District officers received a ShotSpotter alert. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified female suffering from a gunshot wound and performed life-saving measures. Medics later transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives took over the investigation.
