BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore police seized 10 dirt bikes and vehicles, made multiple arrests and recovered a stolen vehicle during a weekend enforcement operation targeting illegal dirt bike riding and unauthorized car club gatherings across the city.
The Baltimore Police Department said officers from the Southern and Northern districts responded to large groups of dirt bike riders traveling through city parks. Officers prevented the groups from continuing through the area and helped manage crowds as hundreds of riders gathered near Druid Hill Park.
Additional officers responded to disperse the gathering. During the operation, police seized three illegal vehicles, bringing the weekend total to 10 dirt bikes and vehicles seized.
Police also issued civil citations to two gas stations after officers observed the businesses fueling participants involved in the illegal dirt bike activity. The cited businesses are located at 101 W. Patapsco Ave. and 3601 Potee St.
In a separate enforcement initiative, Southern District officers responded to the 1000 block of Wilson Drive after security personnel reported a large gathering of vehicles.
Officers positioned themselves near the area and secured available exit routes, resulting in 54 vehicle stops and 36 traffic citations.
Police also reported:
- One arrest for assaulting a police officer.
- One arrest involving a stolen vehicle and handgun violations.
- Recovery of a vehicle reported stolen in Montgomery County on June 26.
- Three vehicles towed.
The Baltimore Police Department said it will continue conducting enforcement operations targeting illegal dirt bike activity, exhibition driving and unauthorized vehicle gatherings that pose risks to public safety.
