Baltimore man charged with attempted murder after Western District shooting

Baltimore, MD – A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after a shooting in the Western District left a 49-year-old victim critically injured, police announced.

The incident happened on September 10 at about 3:09 p.m. in the 500 block of Islamic Way. Responding officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators identified the suspect as Shuaib Franklin of Baltimore. He was arrested at the scene and later transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to review evidence and interview witnesses.
