Bank Robbery in Utica Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects

UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Bank of Utica on Friday morning, resulting in the detention of two suspects. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m., when a male suspect allegedly handed a note to a bank teller claiming he had a weapon and demanded cash.

The teller complied, and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Utica Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division quickly took over the case, receiving support from the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center and the New York/New Jersey U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Within hours, police detained a male and female suspect in connection with the robbery. Both individuals are currently in custody at the Utica Police Department, where they are being questioned as the investigation continues.

Charges are expected to be filed later this evening, according to the Utica Police Department. The names of the suspects and the specific charges will be released following the completion of the investigation.
