BARNEGAT, N.J. — The Barnegat Township Police Department officially welcomed two new officers, Patrolman Kevin Wagner and Patrolman Evan Sands, during a swearing-in ceremony held this morning in the presence of their family and friends.

Patrolman Wagner, a current Barnegat resident, brings 13 years of law enforcement experience to the department. His resume includes serving as a SWAT team member, Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Less Lethal Weapons Instructor, and Detective.

Patrolman Sands, a Barnegat native, joins the department with just over a year of police experience. In addition to his law enforcement background, he is a certified personal trainer and has demonstrated a strong dedication to serving his local community.

“We’re thrilled to have these dedicated officers join our department,” the Barnegat Police Department said in a statement. They also expressed gratitude to the Township Committee for its ongoing support.
