Bay Shore Man Convicted of Sexual Abuse Against Stepdaughter

Suffolk County, NY – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the conviction of a 45-year-old Bay Shore man for sexually abusing his stepdaughter, who was between the ages of 10 and 11 years old at the time of the crimes.

The jury found the defendant guilty of multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, following evidence presented at trial that detailed the abuse which occurred from August 2021 to October 2021.

The victim, bravely reaching out to authorities through a text message to 911, led to the defendant’s arrest on December 22, 2021. The sexual assault forensic examination corroborated the victim’s allegations with DNA evidence.

District Attorney Tierney praised the young victim’s bravery and the jury’s diligence in ensuring justice. The defendant, whose identity is withheld to protect the victim, now faces up to 50 years in prison plus 20 years of post-release supervision, with sentencing scheduled for March 25, 2024.

He was represented by the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society.
