WILDWOOD CREST, NJ – Joseph McCourt, a 32-year-old man from Bayonne, NJ, was arrested on Wednesday, August 30, for criminal sexual contact.
At around 2:07 p.m., Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol requested police assistance for a report of inappropriate behavior. A 17-year-old female reported being groped by an unknown white male while swimming near Heather Rd.
McCourt was located under a beach towel and drinking alcohol. He was positively identified at the scene and subsequently arrested.
He faces charges of 4th-degree Criminal Sexual Contact and was issued a local ordinance for consuming alcohol on the beach.
