A Bayonne man has been arrested and charged with possessing child sexual abuse material following a months-long investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Jonathan Chevere, 24, was taken into custody Thursday at his residence and charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He is accused of storing over 250 files containing child sexual abuse material on social media platforms.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the investigation began between July and November 2024 after multiple tips were submitted to the task force regarding the online storage of explicit materials involving minors. Authorities later identified Chevere as the user of the involved accounts.

He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
