Bedford County Man Sentenced for Assault of Student

HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the sentencing of Jarrod Clapper, a 25-year-old former Bedford Area High School employee.

Clapper has been sentenced to 7 to 23 months in prison, with an additional 3 years of probation, following his conviction for sexual assault.

He will also be required to register as a sexual offender for 25 years under the Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

Evidence presented in court showed that Clapper, who worked in the school district’s Information Technology department, assaulted a 17-year-old student.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Philip M. McCarthy after being referred by Bedford County authorities.
