Bedminster receives $300,00 from Somerset County commissioners for community garden

Commissioner Deputy Director Melonie Marano presented Bedminster Mayor Lawrence Jacobs with a check for $300,000 from the County’s Recreational Open Space Fund to build a community garden at River Road Park alongside the historic Jacobus Vanderveer House.

BEDMINSTER, NJ – A new community garden will be built at River Road Park in Bedminster thanks to a $300,000 donation from the Somerset County Open Space Fun. The check was presented to Mayor Lawrence Jacobs by Commissioner Deputy Director Melonie Marano.

The open space fund is typically used by the county to acquire open spaces to preserve them from development.

This garden will be built alongside the historic Jacobus Vanderveer House.
