Belleville begins removing parking meters, but that doesn’t mean free parking

BELLEVILLE, N.J. – The Township of Belleville has started removing parking meters along Washington Avenue, transitioning to the ParkMobile app for payments, police announced Monday.

Motorists parking on Washington Avenue are advised to look for covered meters and use nearby ParkMobile signs to process payments via their smartphones.

“The Township of Belleville has begun the process of removing the parking meters from Washington Avenue & utilizing the ParkMobile App for payments,” the Belleville Police Department stated on social media.

Officials thanked residents for their cooperation and patience during the transition.
