BAYVILLE, NJ – If you plan on riding your golf cart on a public road, police in Berkeley Township are reminding residents that they must be legally registered with the state of New Jersey just like any other vehicle.
“Golf carts are not allowed on public roadways unless they are designated as Low Speed Vehicles (LSV),” the department said. “A Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) is allowed only on 25mph roadways as per ordinance in Berkeley Twp. They must be registered as a LSV with at least one license plate visible on the back of the vehicle.”
LSV’s must be insured, and driven by a licensed driver.
