Bicyclist Struck by Hit and Run Driver

Cumberland, MD – On Friday evening, officers from the Cumberland Police Department were called to respond to a hit-and-run incident on Ascension Street.

The victim, who was riding a bicycle near Spring Street and Maryland Avenue, was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Cumberland Police Department or the Allegany-Mineral County Crimesolvers with the possibility of remaining anonymous.

The incident occurred on Friday night at around 8:35 P.M. when the victim was hit while riding a bicycle.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening. Officials encourage anyone with relevant information to reach out to the authorities.
