Suspect caught on camera after broad daylight stabbing on 7th Street

Washington, DC — A man wanted for stabbing another individual during a broad daylight fight in Northwest D.C. is now the subject of a citywide search, with video and photos released Tuesday in hopes of identifying the suspect.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 7, at approximately 5:36 p.m. in the 1100 block of 7th Street, Northwest. According to investigators, a physical altercation escalated when the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim survived the attack and was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Surveillance footage from the area captured the suspect shortly before and after the attack. The Metropolitan Police Department released the video and still images Tuesday afternoon, asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual seen in the footage.

Investigators have not shared details about what led to the confrontation or whether the suspect and victim knew one another. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
