BROOKLYN, NY – A reputed Brooklyn gang member, Jamel Dossie, 34, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on Wednesday, following his conviction for second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon on June 29. The announcement was made by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

Dossie was found guilty of murdering 32-year-old Francisco Bonilla, a father of a two-year-old girl, outside a bodega on Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn, on November 19, 2019. Stray bullets from the incident hit a nearby school bus and an MTA bus, narrowly missing passengers.

Dossie, a member of the Blood Stone Villains gang, was seen on surveillance video hunting down the victim before firing at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Dumont Avenues.

Post-incident, Dossie was captured on video returning to a nearby building where he stashed the firearm in a mailbox and was seen celebrating the murder.

Further evidence includes a red baseball cap found in a fourth-floor apartment, worn by Dossie during the incident. His DNA was recovered from the hat.
