BROOKLYN, NY – A man is wanted after a violent robbery inside a Fourth Avenue bodega left a store clerk injured during the Thursday morning rush.
The suspect entered the shop around 8:50 a.m., grabbed medicine from the counter, and fought off an employee who tried to stop him.
Police said the robber repeatedly punched the 39-year-old worker before fleeing south on Fourth Avenue.
EMS treated the victim at the scene for facial injuries as detectives reviewed surveillance footage from inside the store.
NYPD seeks public help identifying suspect
Investigators released images of the unidentified man late Friday, asking anyone who recognizes him to come forward. The suspect was last seen wearing dark clothing and fled the scene on foot.
The NYPD’s 72nd Precinct Robbery Squad is leading the investigation, canvassing the surrounding area and checking nearby businesses for additional video evidence.

Police are urging anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, where callers can remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted online or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering “TIP577.”
Detectives believe the suspect may be connected to other recent thefts in the area but have not confirmed any links.
