MARATHON, FL – Police in Marathon have discovered the body of a man floating in the water of Boot Key Harbor on Saturday. Authorities at this time do not know the cause of death.
“A man was found dead in Boot Key Harbor in Marathon by passing mariners Saturday,” the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported. “The man was found about 50 feet from Boot Key Bridge at approximately 5 p.m.”
Identification is pending notification of next of kin. The cause of death remains under investigation, but foul play is not expected to be a factor.
