Body Found in Duffel Bag Identified as Missing Philadelphia Boy, 4

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia police confirmed that the remains discovered in a duffel bag in West Philadelphia on March 18 belong to 4-year-old Damari Carter.

Authorities started investigating Carter’s disappearance on Thursday.

Carter’s mother had initially informed family members that he perished in a car accident. However, police discovered no evidence to support her claim. She, along with 30-year-old Kevin Spence, was later apprehended and charged with murder following a raid on Spence’s Reno Street residence.

PPD disclosed that the remains, identified as Carter’s, were found in a severely decomposed state in a duffel bag at the corner of 38th Street in Mantua. On Wednesday, the confirmation of Carter’s identification was made by the police department.
