Body Found Near Where Boater Went Missing in Manasquan Inlet

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – Police discovered a body near the Manasquan inlet, believed to be a boater who went missing after their 31-foot-long boat capsized last week.

Authorities discovered a body in Point Pleasant Beach on Saturday afternoon, as the search for a missing 21-year-old boater continued.

Officials have yet to confirm whether the body is that of Derek Narby, a Brick resident missing since his boat capsized in the Manasquan Inlet on September 14.

The body was discovered at 2:45 p.m., Channel Drive in Point Pleasant Beach along the banks of the Manasquan River, according to a State Police spokesman. Troopers were dispatched to the location for the recovery operation.
