Body of Likely Missing Swimmer Washes Ashore in Seaside Park

SEASIDE PARK, NEW JERSEY — Authorities recovered a body 10 feet off the coast of Seaside Park on Wednesday morning, initiating recovery shortly after 7 a.m.

It remains unconfirmed whether the body is that of a swimmer who disappeared on Sunday due to a rip current, but it is a strong possibility at this time.

Helicopter searches have been ongoing since the individual went missing. The disappearance occurred in a series of incidents that led to two additional fatalities over the weekend.

Officials have strongly advised against swimming in the absence of lifeguards, pointing to hazardous rip currents as a concern.
