Body of Missing 11-year-old Found in Hudson River

NEW YORK, NY – The body of a missing 11-year-old boy was found early Saturday morning by a NYPD Harbor Unit on patrol in the area. At around 6:45 am, the harbor unit responded to an area along the Hudson River near 102nd Street and Riverside Drive after reports of a possible body in the water.

When police arrived, they found a juvenile male victim unconscious and unresponsive in the river.

The boy’s body was retrieved and identified as 11-year-old Alfa Barrie. Barrie went missing on Friday at around 4 pm, according to police.

The NYC Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the boy’s cause of death.
