Bogus Clerk’s Office Scammers Targeting South Jersey Homeowners

Gloucester City, NJ – Residents of Gloucester City are urged to be cautious as reports have emerged of individuals falsely claiming to represent the Camden County Clerk’s Office while attempting to gain entry into residential properties.

According to officials, the Camden County Clerk’s Office does not conduct home visits or inspections, emphasizing that employees do not engage in such activities.

The suspects, described as one white male and one Latino male, have been approaching homes under the guise of inspecting damages and seeking access. Upon being confronted, the individuals swiftly departed the vicinity in a Ford F-150 bearing markings from Green Leaf Landscaping and a Pennsylvania registration.

The situation has prompted Clerk Joe Ripa to advise residents to remain on high alert and avoid admitting unverified individuals into their homes.

If an individual purporting to be from the Camden County Clerk’s Office arrives at your door without prior notice, residents are advised to contact 911 immediately.

Authorities further urge anyone with relevant information regarding the males described in the Gloucester City incident to contact the Gloucester City Police Department at (856) 456-0900.
