Boy Hospitalized After Goldsboro Shooting

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Sunday morning saw a distressing incident in Goldsboro as an 8-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound.

Around 6:18 a.m., Goldsboro police, in collaboration with Wayne County EMS and Goldsboro Fire, responded to a shooting report at 117 Astor Ct.

The young boy, who suffered a gunshot wound to his left lower leg, was first taken to Wayne UNC Health Care. For further treatment, he was transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated by the Goldsboro Police Investigations Division.
