Braintree Man Arrested in Connection with Newbury Street Burglary

BOSTON, MA – On Friday, at approximately 4:17 PM, Boston Police Department officers from District D-4 (South End) arrested Wayne O’Keefe, a 50-year-old resident of Braintree.

This arrest followed a directive from the Boston Regional Intelligence Center regarding a motor vehicle linked to a breaking and entering incident that occurred on December 11, at 47 Newbury Street.

The vehicle was located and intercepted by officers in the vicinity of 11 Melnea Cass Boulevard. During the stop, O’Keefe, the driver, was found to be in violation of multiple auto laws and in possession of illegal narcotics.

O’Keefe now faces charges including operating a motor vehicle without a license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, number plate violation, and possession of class A and B drugs. Additional charges relating to the burglary at the Valentino Store on Newbury Street are forthcoming following further investigation.

The arraignment for O’Keefe is scheduled for Monday morning at the Boston Municipal Court.
