  • Public Works, emergency services, and utility teams worked nonstop since Saturday
  • Town Hall remains closed Tuesday as cleanup operations continue

“United in service, stronger together”

The Brick Township Police Department issued a statement titled “United in Service, Stronger Together,” expressing gratitude to residents and workers who braved hazardous conditions to keep the township safe and functioning.

“We want to thank our residents for their cooperation and for following all weather safety warnings,” the department said. “A community that works together, regardless of the conditions, is a stronger township.”

Mayor Crate echoed those sentiments, saying the past several days have showcased the township’s unity and resilience. “From our DPW to our first responders and utility partners, everyone stepped up when it mattered most,” she said. “We are deeply grateful for their dedication to the people of Brick.”

Emergency crews worked around the clock

The township’s Department of Public Works, alongside the Ocean County and State Road Departments, has been “working around the clock since Saturday evening” to clear streets, according to the police statement. The Office of Emergency Management, Fire Departments, and First Aid squads staffed the Emergency Operations Center for 24 straight hours as heavy snow and wind battered the area.

Brick officials also recognized JCP&L and outside contractors “for their diligent work in restoring power during these ongoing cleanup operations.”

Roads remain hazardous as salting begins

As of Tuesday, Town Hall remains closed while crews continue salting and plowing operations. Police urged drivers to remain cautious, noting that “travel lanes may suddenly merge into a single lane” and warning motorists to “stay alert for workers, equipment, and snow banks.”

Officials reminded residents that the snow ended less than 24 hours ago and encouraged anyone whose street remains unplowed to report it through the township’s DPW website.
