Brockton Man Arrested in Roxbury on Firearm and Drug Charges

ROXBURY, MA – On Wednesday, at about 9:31 PM, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 20-year-old Lyriq Rivera of Brockton in the area of 85 Warren Street in Roxbury. Officers were conducting a firearm investigation when they found Rivera in possession of a loaded firearm and drugs, including 15 individually packaged plastic bags containing a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, totaling approximately 20 grams.

The firearm was identified as a Sig Sauer P320 9mm, with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the high-capacity magazine. Rivera was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trafficking; Class B, Drugs (20 grams). He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
