BRONX, NY – The Bronx District Attorney, Darcel D. Clark, announced on Tuesday the indictment of Stephanie Grabowski, 40, and Mark Russell, 45, for the extreme neglect of Grabowski’s two young daughters. Found locked in a grimy room without adequate food or clothing, the girls were discovered by NYPD Officers and Field Intelligence Detectives in a squalid apartment on May 3.

Grabowski and Russell face charges including Kidnapping, Unlawful Imprisonment, Burglary, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They are set to appear in court again on September 13.

Upon inspection of the apartment, the officers found it in deplorable conditions, with a lack of proper food, amenities, clothing, and clean diapers for the children. Physical examinations at Jacobi Medical Center revealed significant bruising, rashes, and difficulties with mobility and speech for the girls.
