Bronx Man Arrested in Fatal 2021 Hit-and-Run Case

NEW YORK, NY – Pedro Guzman, a 50-year-old Bronx resident, has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in 2021. The arrest took place on April 11, 2024, within the 50 Precinct at 5:44 PM.

The case dates back to November 16, 2021, when an 80-year-old pedestrian, Tung Vo, was struck by a blue SUV while crossing Jerome Avenue. The incident, reported at approximately 6:07 AM, led to Vo suffering critical injuries. He was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day. The vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene heading southbound on Jerome Avenue.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad has been investigating the incident, leading to Guzman’s arrest under the charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
