Bronx man fatally shot, another injured in early morning shooting

BRONX, NY — A 46-year-old man was killed, and a 23-year-old man was injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning in the Bronx, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 5:23 a.m. reporting a person shot at 364 East 170th Street, within the 44th Precinct. Upon arrival, police found Mario Fowler, 46, inside the location with gunshot wounds to both legs.

Fowler was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A second victim, a 23-year-old male, was located nearby in front of 1420 Clay Avenue with a graze wound to his chin. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators later determined the incident took place in front of 350 East 170th Street. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
