Bronx Man Sentenced for Killing Infant Son

BRONX, NY – Teshawn Watkins, a 31-year-old resident of 3642 Holland Avenue, was sentenced to 5-10 years in prison on Thursday, for the manslaughter of his seven-week-old son, Kaseem Watkins.

The sentencing by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Jeffrey Zimmerman also included five years post-release supervision.

Watkins entered a guilty plea to second-degree Manslaughter and third-degree Assault during jury selection for his trial on December 5, 2023.

The investigation revealed that on January 29, 2020, Watkins smothered his son with pillows to silence his crying, leading to asphyxiation.

Additionally, Watkins admitted to assaulting Kaseem’s mother, Cecilia Reyes, while she was pregnant with Kaseem.
