Bronx Man Sentenced to 16 Years for Beating and Killing One-Year-Old Child

BRONX, NY – Keishawn Gordon, a 26-year-old Bronx resident, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the first-degree manslaughter of his girlfriend’s one-year-old son, Legacy Beauford. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced the sentencing, which also includes 5 years of post-release supervision.

The incident occurred between September 8 and 9, 2021, at the residence Gordon shared with his girlfriend.

During the mother’s absence, Gordon assaulted the child, causing fatal blunt force trauma injuries, including a lacerated liver and internal bleeding. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed these findings.

Bronx Supreme Court Justice Seth Steed delivered the sentence, emphasizing the severity of Gordon’s actions.

The defendant had pleaded guilty on October 12, accepting responsibility for the heinous act that led to the young child’s death.
