Bronx Store Employee Attacked by Shoplifter

BRONX, NY — A physical altercation followed an attempted theft at a store located at 200 East 161 Street on Saturday, April 20. At approximately 6:15 PM, a male entered the store and tried to steal clothing. When confronted by a 29-year-old male employee as he attempted to leave, the situation escalated into violence.

The assailant, described as a 6 feet 5 inches tall male with a medium complexion and slim build, punched the employee multiple times in the head before fleeing the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries and was subsequently transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities are actively searching for the perpetrator.
