Brooklyn burger restaurant robbed at gunpoint as gunman jumped over the counter

BROOKLYN, NY – A Brooklyn Checkers fast food hamburger restaurant was robbed at gunpoint by multiple suspects recently, and today, police released photos of those suspects. Detectives with the city’s 83rd police precinct are now asking the public to assist in identifying the gunman in that robbery.

Officers responded to the Checkers restaurant at 1611 Broadway at around midnight on February 28 after a report of an armed robbery.

Police later learned three men were involved in the robbery.

“One of the individuals, dressed in black with a black face mask, posed as a prospective customer, followed by the two other males,” NYPD said. “Another jumped the service counter, pulled out a firearm, and told the female store employee to open the register and give him the money.”

A second suspect, dressed in black with a black mask and yellow gloves, also jumped the counter, grabbed the male coworker, and demanded that he look down and not move.

The armed robbery suspects fled after taking $288 from the register.

They are still at large. No arrests have been made. No injuries were reported.
