BROOKLYN, N.Y. – An 85-year-old woman was found stabbed to death inside her Bedford-Stuyvesant residence Tuesday night after police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at 638 Throop Avenue, authorities said. Officers arrived around 9:57 p.m. to find the victim, identified as Julia Boomer, suffering from multiple stab wounds throughout her body. She was rushed by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
Detectives from the 79th Precinct launched a homicide investigation as police canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence late into the night. As of early Wednesday, no arrests had been made, and the motive behind the deadly attack remains unclear.
Neighbors described the scene as tense, with police flooding the block as forensic teams processed the crime scene. Authorities have not released details on possible suspects or weapons recovered.
