Brooklyn internet cafe, patrons robbed at gunpoint

NEW YORK, NY – Four suspects entered a 59th Street internet cafe in Brooklyn on Wednesday and demanded cell phones and cash from employees and customers inside.

The incident happened at around 1:55 am when the four men entered the business and pulled out weapons. One suspect pulled a gun, the other a knife as they demanded the employees and customers give them their wallets and cellphones.

Detectives with the NYPD’s 66th Precinct reported six customers and one employee were robbed.

“One of the individuals displayed a firearm, while a second individual displayed a knife. The individuals removed approximately $200 cash from the register and five iPhones from the patrons,” the NYPD said today.

After committing the armed robbery, the suspects fled the scene, heading toward 9th Avenue. They entered a vehicle and left the area.

No injuries were reported.
