Brooklyn Man Arrested for Assault on Elderly Subway Passenger

Brooklyn, NY — Alexander Santiago, a 32-year-old male from 254 5th Avenue, was arrested and charged on Friday at 11:00 AM within the confines of the 60th Precinct. Santiago faces charges of Assault in the 2nd degree for causing injury to a victim 65 years old or older.

The arrest follows an incident on Wednesday at approximately 9:15 AM inside the 25th Street subway station on a southbound R train. According to police reports, Santiago approached a 72-year-old male victim, leading to a verbal dispute. The confrontation escalated, and Santiago punched the victim in the head, causing minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene, and the victim received medical attention on-site.

Santiago was apprehended as part of an ongoing investigation into the assault.
